If you have tested successfully xmlFM<\/a>, it is now time to install it ! And this is extremely easy.

  1. Open your own copy of xmlFM, go in the script menu, and copy<\/strong> the complete folder \u00ab\u00a0GetXMLNode scripts\u00a0\u00bb

  2. Open the script viewer of your own FileMaker document, and paste<\/strong> the folder scripts (see step 1)<\/li>\n
  3. You should now connect<\/strong> your scripts to xmlFM. You can get largely inspired by the script \u00ab\u00a0GetXMLNode_example<\/strong>\u00ab\u00a0.

    \nIf you prefer to create from scratch, here are the main steps :<\/p>\n
      \n
    1. Create your own script<\/li>\n
    2. Define the input variables :\n
        \n
      1. \u00ab\u00a0$$XML\u00a0\u00bb should contain the XML document to parse<\/li>\n
      2. \u00ab\u00a0$$XPath\u00a0\u00bb is the path to the element content you want to extract. Its syntax consisting of a series of xml nodes formatted as follows :

        \/nodeName[instanceNumber]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n

      3. Call scripts \u00ab\u00a0GetXMLNode\u00a0\u00bb<\/li>\n
      4. The results are in the following variables :\n

        1. \u00ab\u00a0$$nodeValue\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0contains the requested element content pointed by $$XPath.
          \nIt will contain \u00ab\u00a0\u00a0\u00bb in case of error.<\/li>\n
